MARTIN-EL, Ms. Adalphia Lee "Precious" - Age 41, passed awayThursday June 30, 2016 at her residence. Family Hour 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 394 Howland Avenue, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:30 AM. Rev. Solomon Smith, Jr., Officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Ms. Adalphia Martin-El will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St. and may be viewed from 3:00 PM - 8:00PM Friday. Ms. Adalphia “Precious” Lee Martin-El was born September 4, 1974 in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Lloyd and Catherine Martin-El. Precious graduated from Pontiac Northern High School in 1992. Precious was a miracle child. At the age of 2 ½ the doctor said she wouldn’t make it pass seven years old, but God had the last word. Precious never showed weakness, never shed a tear. Precious was a fighter until the very end. Growing up Precious enjoyed going to the Boys & Girls club hanging with the fellas. Precious enjoyed her family. She had a very special bond with her parents, and bond that was unbreakable also with her God-Mother Adelphia “Bit” Allen who she was named after. Precious showed unconditional love to everyone she encountered. She enjoyed being with family and friends, cuddling on the couch with a blanket saying move Snow. “LOL”. Precious enjoyed hanging out shopping. She traveled all around the world at a very young age. Precious moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, She was employed at Enterprise Rent-a-Car and as a part-time bartender. Bartending was her passion. Precious later moved to Houston, Texas where she was employed at Houston Oil Company, D-12 until she became ill. Precious was baptized by Reverend Eric Williams of True Praise Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Precious leaves to cherish her memory: Two Brothers, Kevin Martin of Pontiac, MI and Donnie Walker of Fairfield, CA; God-Mother, Adelphia “Bit” Allen of Pontiac, MI; God-Brother, Jonathan Abram; God-Sister, Eugenia “Gina” Sharp; God-Daughter, Diamond Moore of Detroit, MI; and Fiancé, Derrick Gully of Houston, TX; Precious had no biological children, but she was a mother to many. She also leaves to cherish her puppy, Martini Martin; a host of friends from Pontiac, MI, Charlotte, NC and Houston, TX. Special cousins, Agatha Bond, Gail Bond, Lionel Bond, Gerald (Kia) Allen and Alphia Kennedy; Special childhood friends, Karmen Byrd and Betty Smith; Special Sisters in Christ, Tashina Fortier, Denita McGhee-Spears, Tara Chambers, Carmen Robinson, Marlo Robinson, Beverly Holmes, NKengie Flagg-Lillard, Karla White, Tawana McGhee, Kamisha Williams. Precious was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Catherine Martin-El; brother, Andre Long; Paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Florence Martin; maternal grandparents, Louis Gross and Darlene Motley; and a host of aunts and uncles.
