REED, Baby Girl Gracie Annmarie "Pumpkin Spice" - age 1 month, passed away, Sunday, June 9, 2013 at William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, June 22, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00AM.Pastor Douglas P. Jones, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 North Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Saturday. There will be no public viewing. Heaven’s gain was our loss when our angel was called by our Lord. “God’s Amazing” Gracie AnnMarie Reed came into this world too soon and was taken too soon. Gracie was born on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 2:11 a.m. at 27 ½ weeks to the proud parents Roderick and Lativa Reed at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She weighed 1 pound, 4 ounces and was 11 inches long. Gracie was deeply loved by her Mommy, Daddy, and big sister Jurnee. It was because of that deep love that Jurnee named her sister Gracie Ann-Marie. Jurnee wanted them to share middle names to bond them for life. Gracie was affectionately nicknamed “Pumpkin Spice” by mom and “Lil Scrappy” by dad because she was a little fighter. Before Gracie went to her heavenly home she enjoyed listening to her sister sing to her and being held close by her parents. She touched many lives and was loved deeply by all who met her. She will be greatly missed by all who came in contact with her. She passed peacefully in the arms of her loving mother on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 2:10 pm. The family would like to thank the staff at Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak NICU Pod F for the incredible care provided to Gracie and the entire family, with a special thank you to the Baby Whisper Floir; Momma Jamie (Jamie); Teresa; The Ball of Joy (Vanessa); Renee; RN’s Michelle, Stephanie, Jennifer, Wendy, Lynn, RRT Stephanie, CNNP Susan Bartos; and Dr. Pryce, Dr. Steffes, Dr. Devarahally, and Dr. Vlachos and staff. The family would also like to thank the staff of 9 West at McLaren Hospital in Pontiac for their compassion and support. Gracie leaves her precious memories with her parents Lavita and Roderick Reed, sister Jurner Ann-Marie Reed; maternal grandparents Brenda and James Gadson; paternal grandparents, Sylvia Reed and Victor Page; great grandmother Lurline Page; aunts, Lakita Sims, Miriam (Bryan) Green, Miaisha Smith, LeStarr Rose, Cinnamon Jones, and Ranvia Griffin; uncles, Keith Gadson, and Derrick Gadson; God parents, Corey Tademy and Michelle Naylor; and a host of cousins and dear friends.
