Deborah Mae "Big Red" Manning

MANNING, Mrs. Deborah Mae "Big Red" - age 64, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 at McLaren Hospital Oakland. Family hour 12:30 PM Friday, August 14, 2020 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 174 Branch Street., with funeral service commencing immediately at 1:00 PM. Pastor Keyon S. Payton, Officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:30PM Friday. Mrs. Manning will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from Noon – 6:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Manning leaves to cherish her memory: children, Evelyn Smith, Deanna Newton, Deborah Newton and James Smith (Lanie Boas); stepdaughter, Destiny Daniels; grandchildren, Shaniqua Smith, Latonya Stimage, Kenneth, Kenyatta, Javonte, Kevonte and Keyra Smith, Ravon Love, Rachelle Macias, Jalen Bolden and Myles Boas-Smith; great-grandchildren, Ka-Marion Johnson, Kemelo Smith, Kenneth Smith, Jr., Teyanah Smith, Davon Smith, MJ and Romelo Heady; siblings, Jerry (Tammy) Smith, Neal (Karen) Smith, Jr., Robert Smith, Ellen Elam, Nathenia (Laurence) Johnson, Joyce (Johnny) Russell and Pamela Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Manning was preceded in death by her siblings, Edwin, James, Aaron and Leon Davenport, Henry Smith and Elaine Smith-Wright; parents, Neal and Gladys Smith. At Lawrence E. Beginning on April 10, 2020 at 9:00 am, and Continuing Until Further Notice. All assemblages of more than 10 people in a single indoor shared space and all events of more than 10 people are prohibited in this state. A single indoor shared space includes but is not limited to a room, hall, cafeteria, auditorium, theater, or gallery.
