DANIELS, Ms. Kristy Denene "Smoo Bie" - age 58, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Pontiac, Michigan. 12:00 PM Graveside Service Monday, October 31, 2022 at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 North Perry Street. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 North Perry Street. Friends and pallbearers will assemble directly at the cemetery 12:00 PM Monday. Ms. Daniels will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 North Perry Street, and may be viewed between the hours of 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Sunday, October 30, 2022. Kristy Denene Daniels was born May 19, 1965, in Pontiac, Michigan to the union of Joyce Morgan and the late Kenneth Wayne Daniels Sr. She was the fifth of nine siblings; three proceeded her in death. Kristy was baptized at a young age in the Pentecostal Church of God. She was a dedicated and loyal member until her death. She enjoyed assisting her brothers and sisters with remodeling the entire Pontiac assembly. And she was proud and excited to give back when she created the change jar fundraiser program. She served as a faithful member who truly loved the Lord. Kristy attended Pontiac Public School System starting at Crofoot Elementary, Jefferson Middle and graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1982. She attended Oakland University on a basketball scholarship while pursuing a Bachelors Degree. Kristy married Joe W. Smith III and to this union Joe W. Smith IV was born. She was a caring mother to a talented son. She was also a dedicated and determined hard worker. Her interest included mentoring underprivileged children, landscaping, carpentry, comedian, and the Stout Street Mayor! Kristy was charismatic, lovable, truthful and straight forward kind of friend. She departed this life on Saturday, October 22, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Joyce Morgan of Pontiac, Michigan; son, Joe Wallace “Pooda” Smith IV of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Katrina (Ronald) Stewart of Pontiac, Michigan and Kellae (Kakra) Gyening of Douglasville, Georgia; three brothers, Kenneth Wayne (Veronica) Daniels Jr. of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Darryl Kent (Jacqueline) Daniels of Commerce Township, Michigan and Gregory Lance Daniels of Pontiac, Michigan; a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, friends, and the entire Pentecostal Church of God Family. Ms. Daniels was preceded in death by her grandmother, Gracie Owens; father, Kenneth Wayne Daniels Sr.; sisters, Kendall Daniels and Kia Daniels; and brother, Kendae Daniels.
