ALEXANDER, Mr. Anthony "Tony" - age 54, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at Hilton Convalescent Home Ferndale. Family hour 1:30PM Saturday February 25, 2012 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with memorial service commencing immediately at 2:00PM. Pastor Al J. Terrell, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Saturday. There will be no public viewing. Repast Immediately following Memorial Service will be held at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, 69 S. Astor St., Pontiac, MI. Mr. Anthony "Tone" Alexander was born August 2, 1957 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Elder Jack B. Alexander and the late Dorothy M. Alexander. Tony was baptized at an Early age by Elder Simmons at Gethsamene Apostolic Church. Reafirming his belief in Christ and accepting him. In his last hours he went peacefully to the Lord. Tony Alexander was educated in the Pontiac School System. Graduating from Pontiac Northern High School in 1976. He enlisted into the United States Army Reserves that same year. After being discharged he was employed by the Pontiac School District as a hall monitor for twenty-seven years. Starting at Pontiac Central, then transfering to Pontiac Northern after a brief lasp in employment, he recured another position with the school district at Kennedy Junior High School as a teacher’s aide with special needs children. They loved him and called him "Tone." Anthony’s last job was in food service at WHRC. Tony loved sports especially WWF Wrestling. He did not believe anybody when he was told it was fake. He was an avid movie fan. Anthony loved his DVD’s and his music. Back in the day he was "Mr. Disco Duck." Did not know the boy could dance. He was a great salsa dancer, and a gifted artist. He had lots of friends, magnetic personality, kind hearted and had a temper and three sisters that he put up with in his words. Mr. Alexander leaves to mourn his memory: father, Elder Jack Alexander of Montgomery, AL; sisters, Brenda (Roger) Lissone of Fort Meyers, FL, Sharon A. (Rodney) Johnson of Waterford, MI; niece, Sheena T. Alexander of Montgomery, AL; nephew, Rodney C. (Claudia) Johnson of Bentonville, AK; ten aunts; great nephews, Micah Bunch of Montgomery, AL, Jaylen Christopher Johnson of Bentonville, AK; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends including special friends, Paula Johnson, Mrs. Hattie Manley, Juanita Warren, Michelle Caffey, Martha Hall, Kathi and Harold Evans, Alfonso Butler and Mike Jordan. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy M. Alexander; sister Jacqueline K. Alexander; paternal grandparents, Jimmy (Mary) Alexander; maternal grandparents, Nicholas (Annie Mae) Gresham. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at the Hilton Convalescent Home.
