BRANNER, Mr. Anthony "Pre-Low" "Silk" "Broom" - Age 62, passed away Tuesday September 17, 2013 at his residence. Family hour 1030AM Friday, September 27, 2013 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 394 Howland Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00AM. Pastor Solomon Smith, Sr., officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 N. Belford Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Friday. Mr. Branner will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 1-8PM Thursday. Mr. Anthony Branner was born April 16, 1951 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Bernice Branner and Joe McCoy. Anthony departed this life on September 17, 2013. Anthony was the fifth of fourteen children. He was educated in the Pontiac Public School System. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Anthony received his Honorable Discharge in 1974. He accepted Christ at a later age and was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Solomon Smith. He was employed by Ford Motor Company for many years. Anthony loved to play basketball, tell jokes, cook, listen to music, play cards and have a good time. A hidden talent that many never knew, Anthony was very artistic. If you needed him for anything he would be there for you. He will be greatly missed. Mr. Branner leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, wife, Mary P. Noel-Branner; son, Rev. Jamar (Vontysha) Pittman; his two hearts grandsons, Javon and Jonte’ Pittman; siblings, Edward (Eunice) Branner, Tereatha (Lee) Conley, Patricia Powell, Shellie Branner, Cheryl Randolph, Marietta and Berlinda Branner all of Pontiac, MI; Kein (Tamara) Roddy of Indianapolis IN; Vernita (Lou) Kemp of Pontiac, MI; Lazanda Branner of Nashville, TN and Myron Branner of Pontiac, MI; special great aunt, Catherine Hall; step-sisters, Carla and April Stroman; step-brother, Brian McCoy all of Pontiac, MI; step-daughters, Tiffany Noel, Janice Noel and Oriana Noel; four step grandchildren; one great step-grand-daughter; two step-sisters, Carla Stroman and April Stroman; sister-in-laws; Lucy (Jessie) Simpson, Ruth (Marvin) Aberry, Susie (Johnnie) Taylor and Christine Benton and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other numerous relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Mr. Branner was preceded in death by his daughter, Antnetta Branner; parents, Bernice Branner and Joe McCoy; grandmother, Exermena Cooper-Sharp; brothers, Theodrious Branner and Jerry Branner and stepbrother, Mark Stroman.
