Bettie "Pully" Brown

BROWN, Ms. Bettie Jean "Pully" - Age 50, passed away Saturday August 25, 2012 at Doctors Hospital of Michigan. Family hour 10:00AM Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Greater Bibleway Apostolic Church, 1180 N. Perry St.,with funeral service commencing at 11:00AM. Elder James Manns, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00AM Saturday. Mrs. Brown will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from Noon-8PM Friday. Ms. Bettie Jean Brown born January 3, 1962 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Mary Louise Brown and Eugene Brown. Before, Betty reached school age, her parents and siblings moved to Pontiac, Michigan in hopes of better living. Bettie was nicknamed "Pulley,"which is how family and close friends addressed her. She accepted Christ at an early age. In April, she decided to confess her sins and got baptized again, and gave her life to Christ at Greater Bibleway Apostolic Church, under the leadership of Elder James Mann. She attended the School of Culinary Arts in which she began a Catering business. As a young adult, Bettie met her first love Andre White, they were inseparable. To this union came Andrea and Andre Jr. and later Bettie had another daughter, Keisha. We will remember her laughter, dancing, fishing, bowling, arts and crafts, cooking and catering. There was always a reason to celebrate. We never hesitated to gather as we did until her final day. We will cherish all the fun we had and the love we always shared. This is why we celebrate Bettie Brown’s life today. Ms. Brown leaves to cherish her memory: children, Andre White Jr., Andrea Brown and Keisha S. Ruffin; thirteen grandchildren, DeAndre Brown, Brittany B. Phillips, A’Mariya J. Brown, Adrianna Brown, Ashanti Brown, Mercedes Edgett, Adrian Brown, Audrey Janaya Brown, Audrey Brown, Andre Brown III, Miya Brown, and Andre Brown IV, A’Shreonia M. Ewing; sisters, Dorothy (Willie) J. Moore, Christine Brown, Michelle (David) Williams, Theresa Bryant of NJ; brothers, Eugene Brown and Terrence Pinkston; special aunt, Johanna (Shed) Mae Murray of Warren, OH; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene (Mary) Brown; sisters, Shirley Brown, Mary Brown, Liley Brown; long time partner of thirty years Julius Brown; first love, Andre White Sr.
