HARDY, Mrs. Betty A. "Betty Ann" - Age 58, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland. Family hour 6-8PM Wednesday August 15, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St. Funeral service 1PM Thursday August 16, 2007 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 599 Michigan Ave., Rev. Dr. William Dulaney,offciating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, 210 University Drive. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1PM Thursday. Mrs. Hardy will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2-8pm Wednesday. Mrs. Betty Ann Hardy was born October 11, 1948 in Eldorado, Arkansas, the daughter of Elgie (Ella Mae) Williams, Sr. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. James Baptist Church, under the Pastorage of Rev. Row in Eldorado, Arkansas. Betty was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1966. She later moved to Michigan, where she gained employment at General Motors, Breaburn Nursing Home, Ryders Student Transportation, and The Palace of Auburn Hills until her death. She later reinstated her life back to Christ and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church to please God according to His will unto her death. Betty Ann Hardy leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Harry B. Hardy, Pontiac; three daughters, Makeba Marie Culpepper, Marjorie Alfafara and Ellen Ivory; one son, Harold Hardy, grandchildren, Makene Jemal Culpepper, Javen ISA Culpepper, Joseph Hardy, Holly Kirk, Kristen Rose, Karra Elaine; five sister, Shirley (Emmett) Davis, Claudine Fountain, Rebecca Aaron, Patsy Boone, Felicia (Rev. Charles) Cheatam; brother, Elgie Williams, Jr.; one special aunt, Claudia Mae Young; a host of nieces and cousins; one brother-in-law, Roland Fountain; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Lorna Vaught and Linda Warren. Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her father, Elgie Williams, Sr., and brother, Pank Williams. The family would like to express special thanks to the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Family, St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland, The Palace of Auburn Hills, Lakeland Center, Ryders Student Transportation, Juanita Moten, Wanda Clayton, Cynthia Garland, Jeff and Tina Hawkins.
