Beverly Denise "Bev" "Cookie" Jacob

JACOB, Mrs. Beverly Denise "Bev" "Cookie" - age 55, passed away, Monday, July 27, 2015 at her residence. Family Hour 10:00 AM Thursday August 6, 2015 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 394 Howland Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev., Dr. Solomon Smith, Officiating. Interment at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and Pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10:00 AM on Thursday. Ms. Jacob will lie in state in the chapel at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 2-8:00 PM, Wednesday. Ms. Beverly Denise Jacob was born June 22, 1960 in Monroe, Louisiana, the daughter of Arthur Lee Sparks and Lovely Modest. She later moved to Pontiac, Michigan in 1969. Beverly graduated from Pontiac Northern High School. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to Roy Lee Jacob in 1979. Ms. Jacob was employed with the Pontiac School District for twenty one years. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her plants, taking her grandchildren places, going out to eat namingly “Red Lobster” and lastly going to the Casino. Beverly was a loving, caring and giving person. She would always try to help her fellow man. She had an infectious smile that made you smile, a laugh that you couldn’t forget, and for those who really knew her a sassy talk and jazzy attitude. She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her. Ms. Jacob leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Daneillia Jacob and Rashone Jacob; son, Roy Jacob Jr. all of Pontiac, MI; grandchildren, Na’Jai, Nautica, Ja’Shawn P. Jacob and Jeza’lyn Jones all of Pontiac, MI, Faith Jacob of Detroit, MI; parents, Arthur Lee Love and Lovely Modest; grandmother, Ida Anding; sister, Zinna Barber; one step sister; three brothers, Zachery, Larry and Alexander Modest; eight step brothers; sister-in-law, Marianne Jackson-Modest; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins including special friends, Patsy Vann, Candy Ott, Angela Washington, Schana Humes and Cheryl Milton. Ms. Jacob was preceded in death by her sister, Josphine Modest; brother, Arthur Modest; nephew, Alexander Modest Jr.; step father, Van Love; special friend, Lawrence Coleman. The family would like to express special thanks to Patsy Vann, Lundy Family, Johnson Family and Sherika Armstrong. .
