Celester "CB" Boykin

BOYKIN, Mr. Celester "CB" - age 76, passed away, Monday, July 28, 2014 at his residence. Family hour 10:00AM Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 113-123 Wessen St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00AM. Pastor John D. Tolbert, M. Div., officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 North Belford Rd., Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00AM Saturday. Mr. Boykin will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mr. Celester Boykin was born October 11, 1937 in Greenwood, Mississippi, the son of Nita Bell Cunningham and C.B. Boykin. Celester was a resident of Davisburg, Michigan and member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church for over twenty-five years. Within the church, he served in various ministries: Usher Ministry, Church Jail Ministry and was very active with the Youth Ministry. He was a faithful servant of the Lord. He received his Associates Degree from Oakland Community College. As a young man, he was also very active with the Fraternal Order of Masons. He was employed by General Motors Corporation and retired after thirty years of service. He loved to spend his free time maintaining his residence, watching his children and grandchildren grow and spending time with his devoted wife. Mr. Boykin leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Marcia Boykin of Davisburg, MI; two daughters, Stephanie (Greg) Wiley and Venita Boykin all of Pontiac, MI; son, Jeffrey (Carla) Boykin of Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren, Anita Boykin, Greg Wiley Jr., Britney (Santonio) White, Ariel Boykin, Jeremy Wiley and Hillary Wiley all of Pontiac, MI; Perri Boykin, Jasmine Boykin, Adam Boykin and Alexis Boykin all of Edwardsville, IL; two nephews, Michael and Steve Boykin both of Pontiac, MI; two aunts, Anna V. Cunningham of Pittsburgh, PA and Ellie T. Nero of Chicago, IL; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Boykin was preceded in death by his parents, Nita Bell Cunningham and C.B. Boykin.
