LEVERETTE, Mr. Charlie L - Age 70, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012 at his residence. Public visitations will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 12 Noon-8PM., in Pontiac from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., Pontiac, MI, 48342; and in Flint on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 12 Noon-8PM., at the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with family present from 5PM-8PM. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11AM., Pastor James Beamon officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Burton, MI 48519. Family, friends and pallbearers will assemble at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home-Flint at 10:15 a.m. for the processional to Lovedale Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Charlie L. Leverette was born June 21, 1942 in Marion, Alabama, the son on Mr. and Mrs. Otha and Hannah Leverette. As a student Charlie was highly intellectual, achieving academic excelence as well as track and field. He graduated from Northern High School Class of 1960, attending Mott Community College with aspirations of becoming a pharmacist. Charlie retired from General Motors, having worked at Buick Motor Division. He was an avid bowler and a member of several bowling leagues. He loved reading the Bible, reciting scripture, listening to music and being around people. His favorite pastimes were creating artwork and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Leverette leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Erica (Abdrahamane) Traore; grandson, Eric Ian Leverette; siblings, Louise Thomas, Malinda Robinson and Ellean Terry, all of Flint; two brothers, Otha (luretha, deceased) Leverette of Pensacola, FL; and Joe (Lillie) Leverette of Flint; one sister in law, Lorine Leverette of Pensacola, FL; a host of beloved nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including special nephews, Gene Leverette, Eugene "Jim" King and Lee Curtis "Curt" King; and a good friend, William "Poochie" Allison. Mr. Leverette was preceded in death by his infant daughter Camilla; parents, Mr and Mrs. Otha and Hannah Leverette; and siblings, Julia (Willie) King, Allen, Andrew "B", Bose, J.W. (Flossie), Alexander "Foster", and Eugene (Roberta).
