RAMBUS, Mr. Claudia "Claude" - age 88, passed away, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland. Family hour 1:00PM Saturday, October 11, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with the funeral service commencing immediately at 1:30PM. Pastor James Keys, Sr. Officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:00PM Saturday. Mr. Rambus will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home from 11:00am to the time of the service Saturday. Mr. Claudia Rambus was born January 12, 1926 in West Point, Mississippi, the son of the late Dinah and Armstead Rambus. He moved to Chicago Illinois in early 1950. He was a member of a hunting club in Maplewood, Illinois. Mr. Rambus married the late Twila Rambus in the early 1960. Claudia was a loving and caring individual. He thoroughly enjoyed listening to the blues, traveling, cooking and fishing. Mr. Rambus leaves to cherish his memory: children, Betty Thomas of Pontiac, MI and Larry Rambus of Memphis, TN; step-children, Jeffery Thomas of Chicago, IL, Deborah (Jimmy) Stanley of Hernando, FL, Emanuel (Wanda) Thomas of Chicago, IL and Casalear (Thomas) Gross of Hernando, FL; grandchildren, Samanthia Turner, Tiffany and Ashley Garvin and Donovan Thomas all of Pontiac, MI; Larry Rambus, Jr. of Memphis, TN; Tami Thomas, Jeffery Thomas, Jr., Randall Stanley, Tamar Curtis, Tanya and Thomasina Gross, Wona Lenoir, Keisha Austin, Christopher Brown and Sheldon Hawkins; nineteen great grandchildren; special nephews, Floyd White and James Rambus; sister-in-law, Thelma Graspy; brother-in-law, Joe L. Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends including special nieces, Julia “Micey” Rice and Mae Emma; special great grandson, Jaden “My Partner” Rambus and great granddaughter, Madison “Grandma” Rambus. Mr. Rambus was preceded in death by his wife, Twila Rambus; parents, Dinah and Armstead Rambus; siblings, Julia Ann Gibbs, Lucy Ann Strong, Viola Robinson, Betty Bennett, Lula Mae White, Lee (Jody) Rambus, Clarence and Wesley Rambus; uncles, Clarence Montgomery, Willie (Boosie) Hilson, Ted and William “Buddy” Montgomery; sister-in-law, Henrietta Sinclair; brother-in-laws, Lindsey and Henry Johnson and mother and father-in-law, Margaret Allen-Johnson and Louis Hillard.
