Darrell "Bud" Dixon, III

DIXON, Mr. Darrell "Bud" III - age 26, passed away, Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland. Family hour 1:30PM Saturday July 16, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2:00PM. Rev. Anthony Simpson, Officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Saturday. Mr. Dixon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Mr. Darrell “Bud” Dixon was born December 4, 1989 in Pontiac, MI, the son of Darrell and Susie Dixon. Bud was blessed to have a large extended family living in Imlay City, Waterford and Davison, Michigan. Bud was residing in Pontiac, MI at the time of his unexpected death. Bud worked as a General Manager for Jimmy John’s and was blessed to have a job he loved. He respected the people he worked for and with. Bud was an active member of AA. He wanted to be sure that the teens and young adults in this area had all the support they needed to retain sobriety. He loved the Serenity Club and was working with a Unity Camp project to help ensure the teens and young adults had the support system necessary to maintain sobriety and successful support network. Bud loved reading and music, and played his guitar and on occasion playing in a band. Bud was a perfectionist. He was a hard working young man who cared about his friends. He had never married and had no children, but as mentioned before had a large extended family who all loved him all the time, no matter what. Mr. Darrell “Bud” Dixon is survived by mother, Susie (Glen) Best; sister, Nicole Dixon; brother, Kyle Crosley; and step-mothers, Terri Bartos and Tonya Minay; A host of other relatives and some exceptional lifelong friends including: Trevor and Tre Montroy; and their mother, Leah Montroy; and uncle, Tom; special uncle and namesake, Bud Zimmerman; He was also blessed to have a couple of wonderful women in his life including: best friend, Ashley Bellant; girlfriend, Crystal Cummins; and lifelong friend, Ashley Mae Crowley. Bud was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Dixon and special friend, Lance Ferguson.
