RHYMES, Mr. Johnny Lee Jr - Age 34, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007 in Detroit, Michigan. Family hour 10:30a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11a.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:30a.m. Saturday. Mr. Rhymes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Johnny Lee Rhymes, Jr., was born April 20, 1973 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Doraretha McKee and Johnny Lee Rhymes, Sr. Mr. Rhymes attened Milan School District in 1998 and was a resident of Pontiac, Michigan. He loved History and the History Channel. Johnny's hobbies included riding All Terrain Vehicles, Old School Cars, playing X-Box with is friends, and playing with his dog. His aspiration was to one day own his own Babershop. Johnny was well known as a fashion trendsetter. He enjoyed sleeping under his "Blankie", entitled "Mommy loves you be good," for the last six years. He had a strong passion and committment to his family and friends. Mr. Rhymes leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Kimberly and Jawaun both of Pontiac; parents, Doraretha McKee and Johnny Lee Rhymes, Sr.,; grandmother, Josephine E. Knighton of Detroit, MI; one sister, Kelley Cherie' McKee of TN; one brother, Anthony Nathaniel Rhymes of Detroit, MI; ten aunts, Alice Hosey, Janet L. and Karen Hawkins, Denise Knighton, Queen Ester, Minnie Pearl, Georgia Mae Powell, Patricia Quinney, Alma Young and Julie Tyms; four uncles, Luther, Priscillio, Robert L., and Willie E. Rhymes; 1 goddaughter, Dyna Watkins; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends including special friends, Detrius McKinney, Matthew Kelly and Quintrall Lee. Mr. Johnny Lee Rhymes, Jr., was preceded in death by grandparents, Idell and George Rhymes; uncles, Robert Lee Hawkins, Leon Rhymes, Arthur Lee Knighton and Ira Lee Hawkins; niece, Alisa M. Rhymes; Jacob "Bunn" Williams. The family would like to express special thanks to Julie Tyms, Detrius McKinney, Derrick Wynn, Jay Rhymes, Loyal Friends L.C.C.4 Life.
