Joseph Isaac Peters, Sr.

PETERS, Mr. Joseph Isaac Sr. affectionately known as “Lil Cricket” – age 53, passed away, Sunday, October 22, 2023 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, October 28, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 North Perry Street, with Funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00 AM. Pastor Douglas P. Jones, Officiating. Family and Friends will assemble 10:30 AM at the funeral home Saturday. Mr. Peters, Sr. will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed 8:00 AM until the time of the Service on Saturday. Joseph Isaac Peters, Sr. was born on February 2, 1970 in Pontiac, Michigan the son of Raymond and Arnethia Peters. Joseph was a resident of Auburn Hills, Michigan. He was educated in the Pontiac School District and graduated from Pontiac Northern High School in 1988. Joseph also attended Baker College where he met his former wife, Tracey King. He worked at the Oakland Press, the City of Pontiac and he had many other jobs. Joseph was a member of Welcome Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Douglas P. Jones. He attended the 8:00 a.m. service with his mom and Kenny Harris. Joseph loved sports especially football; he played with the Lakers and their final game was played in the Pontiac Silverdome. He made a touchdown and you know his mom was screaming! Joseph loved cooking homemade meals and spending time with family and friends. Whenever you needed anything, he was always there for you. Joseph was very caring and loved taking care of others. He especially loved taking care of his mom. We’re going to miss his hugs and kisses. Joseph Isaac Peters, Sr., leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Arnethia Karen Peters of Auburn Hills, Michigan, Samantha (Sammie) Kilpatrick of Pontiac, Michigan and Joseph Isaac Peters, Jr. of Auburn Hills, Michigan; grandson, Carter Isaac Peters of Auburn Hills, Michigan; parents, Raymond and Arnethia Peters of Pontiac, Michigan; siblings, Cynthia Peters of Pontiac, Michigan, Deanna (Gerald) Moncrief of Tarpon Springs, Florida and Raymond (Deatra) Peters of Tarpon Springs, Florida; niece, Janne´; nephews, Gerin, Eric, Nelson and Cory; and a host of other relatives and friends. Joseph Isaac Peters, Sr. was preceded in death by grandparents, Lorenzo and Elouise Nichols and Joseph and Louise Peters. The family would like to express special thanks to everyone for their prayers, presence, love, calls, messages and all other expressions of concern that you have shown during this time.
