OTIS, Mr. Juawan D."Juan" - Age 22, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. Family hour 10:30a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009 from the the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St.,with funeral service commencing immediately at 11a.m. Pastor Michael T. Martin, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30am Thursday. Mr. Otis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1PM-7PM Wednesday. Juawan Dwayne Otis was born on October 14, 1986 in Detroit Michigan to birth parents, Marshalynn and Dwight Richmond . He was baptized at an early age and attended church faithfully with his parents David and Savannah Otis. Juawan graduated from high school in the 2006. He enjoyed all kinds of sports, and he loved music. Juawan also enjoyed being in the company of his family and friends. This was very important to him as he loved getting together eating and doing fun things. Juawan was an all around people person and enjoyed interacting with everyone. Juawan also enjoyed just relaxing at home and watching movies which was one of his favorite things to do. Mr. Otis leaves to cherish his memory: parents, David and Savannah Otis of Pontiac; as well as his birthparents, Dwight and Marshalynn Richmond of Detroit; fiancé’, Fatine Williams of Pontiac; four children, Tyree Otis, Janeiyah Otis, Honesty Lee and Carmello Pickett all of Pontiac; siblings, David Taylor (Theresa) of Atlanta, GA, Kayla Otis of Pontiac, David Otis Jr. of Pontiac, Arthur Bernard of Pontiac, Martel Taylor of Keego Harbor and Isaiah Otis of Pontiac, Mae Otis of Flint, Chesa Richmond of Hyattsville, Maryland, Tammie Dowell of Pontiac, , Takeisha Otis and Desiree Bernare; grandfather, Walter Batchelor of Pensacola, Florida; special cousins; Derek and Nakia Wynns, Donte Taylor, Edward Lucas, Jack Goodjoint, Andre and Lolita Siner and the Robinson family; special uncles and aunts, Greg and Darliss Batchelor, Marilynn Robinson (Luke), Edwin (Yoke) Richmond and Lionel Robinson, special niece, Bre’Ana Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends.. Mr. Juawan Otis was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother , Dorothy Batchelor; and his paternal grandparents, Elvester and Ruth (Big Mama) Avery; and brother, Alphonse Bernard.
