Linda Hugh Waters-Lyles

WATERS-LYLES, Ms. Linda Hugh - age 66, passed away, Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 11:00AM Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 351 Prospect Street, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:30AM Pastor Derrick McDonald, Officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at church 11:00AM Wednesday. Ms. Lyles will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 3PM-8PM Tuesday. Ms. Linda “NuNu” Hugh Waters-Lyles was born on October 14, 1948 in Lebanon, TN, to the proud parents of the late Hugh and Nora L. Waters. Linda moved to Pontiac, MI at an early age where she began her educational journey. She was a graduate of Pontiac Central High School, “Class of 1966”. After graduation from high school she continued her education at Oakland Community College and Fern Dell Medical School where she graduated with a medical assistant degree and certification. Linda practiced as a phlebotomist as well. Ms. Linda “NuNu” Hugh Waters-Lyles was employed by St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital as a medical assistant where she later retired. Linda was a member of the Prospect Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board. She was also a member of the Eastern Stars for many years. Linda was very creative and had many talents. “NuNu” shared her talents through her passion for the arts with her artistic sketching’s and through her writing of poems. She enjoyed playing Chess, playing cards and loved traveling the world in 18 wheeler trucks. Like every woman, Linda loved her shoes and purses and it was very evident by the way she sported her look. Linda leaves to cherish her memory: only son, Greg (Mary) Lyles of Macomb, MI; grand-children, Greg II and Creg Lyles of Pontiac, MI; 3 great-grandchildren, Tejaia, Tailana, G’mir Lyles, all of Pontiac, MI; her extended children, Gary (Tony) White of Louisville, KY and Shauntell Britt of Milwaukee, WI; sister, Wanda L. Jones of Pontiac, MI; brother, Rev. Nathan (Rose) E. Waters of Auburn Hills, MI; uncle, James Waters of Pontiac, MI along with a host of nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by: parents, Hugh and Nora Waters; sister Rev. Mary Wilburne and brother-in-law, Rev. Charles Wilburne, Sr.
