Lucinda "Big Lou" Moore-Carter

MOORE-CARTER, Mrs. Lucinda - age 62, passed away, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at McLaren Hospital Oakland. Family hour 10:30AM Friday, July 26, 2013 at Door of Faith Christian Church, 511 S. Sanford St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Earl O. Crump, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Friday. Mrs. Moore-Carter will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Thursday. Mrs. Lucinda Moore-Carter was the first of eight children born May 12, 1951 in Mt. Willing, Alabama to Ezell and Ernestine Moore. In 1954, with her parents and siblings they relocated to Pontiac, Michigan, where she was educated in the Pontiac School District. In 1967, Lucinda had her first child DaTonya, years following her other children were born Othel, Odell and Tameka Moore, and then later adopting Tina Moore. Lucinda began her Christian journey in 1989 at New Greaterway now Door of Faith Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Earl O. Crump. She accepted and received Christ as her personal savior and remained a faithful member ever since. To know Lucinda is to love her including her husband of three years Terrance Carter. She always had an inviting and helpful spirit you couldn’t come around sad or discouraged with out leaving with a smile in your heart and on your face. Lucinda was definitely the life of the gathering with the personality full of joy. If, you were her family or friend her love was unconditional in which her best friend of over forty years, Earlean Transou can attest too. On July 17, 2013 Lucinda Moore-Carter was called home. Her life here may have ended but her eternal journey has just begun Mrs. Lucinda Moore-Carter leaves to mourn: her children, DaTonya (Kenneth) Jenkins, Othel (Sonya) Moore, Odell Moore, Tameka Moore, Tina Moore-Reevers; siblings, Doris (Robert) Holt of Pontiac, MI, Willie Earl (Dorthy) Moore Belleville, MI, Paulette Moore of Pontiac, MI, Ezell Moore Jr. of Pontiac, MI, Elizabeth (Jesse) Dudley of Pontiac, MI, Dorothy (Red) Gipson of Montgomery, AL, Sarah Lynn (Leodis) Bell of Pontiac, MI; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Mrs. Moore-Carter was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Moore; parents, Ezell and Ernestine Moore; grandson, Kinte’ Watts; great granddaughter, Ivyonna Louris; two nieces, DeCarla Moore and Mercedes Armster;
