MULLEN-HARRIS, Mrs. Magnolia "Mae" - Age 96, passed away, Monday, April 1, 2013 at Doctors Hospital. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00AM. Bro. George Howard, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Tuesday. Mrs. Mullen-Harris will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 3PM-8PM Monday. Mrs. Magnolia Mullen-Harris was born February 29, 1917 in Leaton, Alabama, the daughter of the late Bruce and Cora Mullen Sr.. Mrs. Harris was a resident of Pontiac, Michigan since 1926. Magnolia was married to the late R.T. Harris. Mrs. Harris confessed Christ at an early age, and in 1991 she was baptized as a Jehovah Witness and affectionately called “Maggie.” She remained faithful until she was called to eternal rest. She attended Pontiac School District. She was employed as a caregiver and she retired as a housekeeping supervisor at the Kingsley Inn of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. To her family she will always be lovingly remembered as “Mac.” Mrs. Harris loved her family and devoted her life to their well being. Her brothers and sisters all say that she “raised” them and some of their children too. Her second love was fishing which she did for fun and relaxation with family and friends. She loved cooking and was known for giving her strong opinions whether asked for or not. Mrs. Mullen-Harris leaves to cherish her memory: four sisters, Ruth Ott of Brighton, MI, Margaret Mullen of Pontiac, MI, Lillian (Ambrose) Whiters of Pontiac, MI and Blanch McClellan of Pontiac, MI; two brothers, Herbert Mullen Sr. and Calvin Robert (Burdelle) Mullen all of Pontiac, MI; and a host of beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be mourned by special friends, Willie Bell Magee and Betty Sehles. Mrs. Harris was preceded in her death by her husband, R.T. Harris; parents, Bruce and Cora Mullen Sr.; siblings, Osalee Mullen, Louise Jones, Claymon Mullen, Edgar Mullen, Kenneth Mullen and Bruce Mullen Jr.
