Hill, Mrs. Mary L - age 78, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Luther Manor. Family hour 10:00AM Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Eastside Church of Christ, 149 MLK Blvd North., with funeral service commencing immediately at 10:30AM Saturday. Mrs. Hill will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Friday. Mrs. Mary Louise Hill, a loving devoted mother, caring sister, aunt, nurturing grandmother and great-grandmother departed this life on November 15, 2012, surrounded by her loving and caring family. Mary was born March 5, 1934 in Tishomingo, MS to Elizabeth Martin and Archibald Burdine. Mary was a faithful member of Eastside Church of Christ, under the leadership of Brother Robert Brewington. She led a full life traveling, reading and being a second mother to many. Mrs. Mary Louise Hill leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Dianne Martin, Pontiac, MI, Larry (Musette) Hill, Pontiac, MI, Gayle (Richard) Upchurch, Columbus, OH, Pamela Collier, Columbus, OH, Michelle Hill, Pontiac, MI and Darrell Hill, Pontiac, MI; 23 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren she had an undying love for; her siblings, whom she loved dearly: sisters, Shirley Tatum, Saginaw, MI, JoAnn Montgomery, Flint, MI and Kimberly Neal, Fort Smith, AR; brothers, Stoney (Toni) Martin, Flint, MI, Herman (Linda) Martin, Charles Martin, Russellville, AL, James (Annie) Martin, Saginaw, MI and Anthony Badger, Fort Smith, AR. stepfather, Stoney Martin; a host of nieces and nephews she loved as her own. She also leaves an aunt, Ruby Southward, Tishomingo, MS; an uncle, Christopher Columbus Anderson, Bloomington, IL; along with sisters-in-law, Mary (Norris) Key, Vada Hill, Jackson, TN, Doris Albritton, Flint, MI, Dorothy Clementine and Helen Johnson, Pontiac, MI and Jean Singletary, Dover, DE; brother-in-law, Carl Hodges; and many cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her son, Barry Hill; mother, Elizabeth Martin; father, Archibald Burdine; husband, James Hill; and step-daughter, Gloria Modest.
