McCLAIN-STEWART, Mr. Quevonte Deshawn "Que" Age 21, passed away Monday April 4, 2016. Family hour 10:00AM Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, 69 South Astor Street, with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Pastor Al James Terrell, officiating. Family and Friends will assemble at the church 10AM Tuesday. Mr. McClain-Stewart will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 12Noon - 8:00 PM Monday. Quevonte Deshawn McClain-Stewart was called home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2016. He was born on May 31, 1994 in Pontiac, Michigan to Rose Marie Vining and Ulysses McClain Jr. Quevonte gave his life to Christ in 2007 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church where he was also a member. Quevonte attended Waterford Mott High School. He was an honor roll student throughout school and attended the Upward Bound Program. Quevonte was currently a resident of Pontiac, Michigan and employed at Adecco Staffing Services and was excited to start his newly gained position. He was proud to become more independent by obtaining his first apartment on his own. He enjoyed spending time with his family which included Sunday dinners, barbeques at Aunt Davona and Uncle Man’s House and spending summers in Alabama with his Grandparents. Quevonte had an unbreakable bond with his brother Antonio. He was extremely close with his nephews, and enjoyed taking them to Church and Chuck E Cheese. He loved to watch Sports Center and watching his favorite TV shows. Quevonte loved listening, creating music with his friends and he loved his Hot-N-Ready Pizzas with extra butter, parmesan sauce. He was very humble, and always spoke encouraging words to his family and friends. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He leaves to cherish his memory: Mother, Rose Marie (Larry G.) Jackson, Antonio D. Stewart, Ulysses M. McClain, Malik McClain, Tyree McClain, J’Quaveon McClain, and Lyric Vining; Nephews, Za’Vier Jackson, Jaylin Alexander, and De’Yon Rutherford; special aunt and uncle, Davona (Michael) Jones; Aunts, Victoria (LaTari Sr.) Meredith, Cheree Weatherspoon, Stephanie (Carneil) Thomas, Letecia Brown, Tiffany Stewart, Natashia McClain, Nakia McClain, and Theresa McClain; Uncles, James Stewart, Steven McClain, James McClain, and Eric Hughes; special cousins, Devonte Stewart, Sidney Lanehart and Brianna Stewart; and a host of other relatives and friends including godmother, Cotrina Connolly. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ulysses McClain Sr.; Uncle Kenneth Reid; special cousin, Ava Smith.
