Robert Parks

PARKS, Mr. Robert Lee - Age 72, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. Family hour 1:30PM Saturday November 5, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2:00PM. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Saturday. Mr. Parks will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1-8PM Friday. Robert was born on October 13, 1939, in Albany, Georgia to the late Pauline andTyler Parks. He attended Dougherty County Public schools in Albany Georgia. Robert was a baptized member of Bethesda Baptist Church, he also attended Southside Seventh-Day-Adventist church for which he later help build at the new location on South Sanford street. Robert love to play Amazing Grace on the piano, that was his favorite song. He graduated from The United States Army training center Company C Fourteenth Battalion Third Training Regiment at Ft. Jackson South Carolina on February 16, 1957. Robert worked at the General Motors Automobile Plant in Pontiac Michigan until his retirement. Robert married Mary Alice Bailey and of this union four children were born, Jackie, Larry, Brenda and Terry. He was the 6th child of 11children in which six preceded him in death Annie Burkes, Charles Parks, Virginia Cail, Gertrude Stephens, Raymond Parks, and Tyler Parks. Robert married Peggy Parks until death separated them. Robert departed this life on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the age of seventy-two years and 16 days. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Peggy Parks; two sons, Larry (Lisa) Parks of Powder Springs Ga, Terry ( Angelita) Parks of Lawrenceville Ga; four daughters, Jackie (Ernest) Howard of Eustis Fla, Brenda Goodson of Virginia Beach Va, Ruby Parks and Jackie Berry of Pontiac, MI;one brother, Jerome (Alexis) Parks of Albany Georgia; three sisters, Ruby Norris of Stone Mountain Ga; Vera Greeen of Stone Mountain Ga, Alice Gailes of Union City Ga; twelve Grandchildren, Tasheka Bright, Tia and Tanisha Bural, Lauren, Lathan, Tyler and Addison Parks, Iman,Sumaya,& Asrah Berry, Kareem Bell & Destiney Davis; and one great grandchild, Keyshawn Bright; and a host of relatives and friends.
