WILLIAMS, Mrs. Rosie Lee - Age 89, passed away Tuesday August 19, 2008 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday August 26, 2008 from the Chapel of L awrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor James H. Keys, Sr., officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Tuesday. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in th Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1-6PM Monday. Rosie Lee Williams was born July 27, 1919 in Lowndes County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Harriet McCord and Freddie Mack McCord Sr. Rosie Lee Williams was a resident of the City of Pontiac. She confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, which was under the leadership of Rev. Miner. She attended school in Lowndes County, Alabama. She was married to the late Mr. Charlie Williams. She was nick named Big Mama by her grandchildren. Mrs. Williams loved feeding birds, sitting on her front porch, helping the community, eating plain chips, drinking Pepsi, and eating Good Humor Ice Cream. She had great loyalty, admiration and dedication to her entire family. Mrs. Rosie Williams leaves to cherish in her memory: one daughter, Annie "BB" Jackson; one god daughter, Kate Whitaker; four grandchildren, Johnnie "JJ" Jackson of Pontiac, MI, and Rosetta "Rose" Jackson of Pontiac, MI, Robert (Chanita) Jackson Sr., of Pontiac, MI, and Sharon Jackson of Lansing, Illinois; seventeen great grandchildren, Sonia and Deanna of Lansing, Illinois, Dermarl and Jonara of Des Moines, Iowa, Jessica of Dallas, Texas, Morris, Josh, Robert Jr., Brittney, Charee, Mya, Deja, Nita, Christian all of Pontiac, MI, Marquita, Michael, and Michelle of Lansing, Illinois; four great- great grandchildren, Jeandra of Des Moines, Iowa, DeMarquis, Anthony, Jasmine of Lansing, Illinois; three nieces, Carolyn Thornton of Birmingham, Alabama, Deborah (William) Nettles of Montgomery, Alabama, and Annie Ruth McCord of Lowndes County, Alabama; three nephews, James (Cora) Alexander of Montgomery, Alabama, Willie Fred Thornton, and Michael Thornton of Birmingham, Alabama; a host of cousins; in-laws, The Moncrief Family, and a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Rev. Ruby Mitchell, Clyde Jackson, Aaron (Darlene) Ganner, and loyal devoted care giver Elaine ( Golden Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation). Mrs. Rosie Lee Williams was preceded in death by, her husband, Charlie Williams; son, Bennie Lee Edwards; sisters, Janie Mae Alexander and Lucille McCord, Brothers, Charlie Lee McCord, Robert McCord, Willie Ed McCord, and Freddie Mac McCord Jr., son-n-law, Morris Clifford Jackson; and cousins Ed and Shelley Moncrief Sr.
