Roxie Lee "Sister" Daniels

DANIELS, Ms. Roxie Lee "Sister" - age 87, passed away, Sunday, June 5, 2016 at her residence. Family Hour 10:30AM Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 512 Pearsall Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00AM. Pastor Terrance J. Gowdy, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Saturday. Ms. Daniels will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday. Roxie passed away at her home on June 5th of Natural Causes. She was under hospice care at this time. Roxie was in the comfort of her home among her only son and his wife who cared for her for the last six years of her life. Ms. Roxie Lee “Sister” Daniels was born October 1, 1928 in Kissimmee, Florida, the daughter of Emma And Eugene Daniels. She was the second oldest and the first daughter of six children born to this union. She accepted Christ at an early age and later united with Newman A.M.E. Church, were she would remain for several years serving on the Usher Board. She graduated from Kissimmee High School and shortly moved to New York City, where she attended a Culinary Arts School. She then relocated to Michigan were she started doing “Day Work” for many years. She also tried her hand at being a seamstress and also the Upholstery business. Soon after doing “Day Work,” she started her career as a line tech in 1977 with the General Motors Corporation. She retired in 2006. Ms. Daniels leaves to cherish her memory: loving son, Earl B (Kathy) Daniels; grandchildren, Might Lofton, Eddie Hall, Jr. and Shamira Lofton; great grandchildren, Emani Hall, Enyia Hall and Elijah Hall; siblings, Eugene (Erma) Daniels, Earl (Alice) Daniels, Charles Daniels, Edward Daniels and Hattie Daniels and best friend, Mary Bursey; a host of special nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Ms. Daniels was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Eugene Daniels; brother, Edward Daniels; and nephew, Cleve McCall. The family of Roxie Lee Daniels would like to thank you and wish to share our heartfelt gratitude for the out pouring of love and support shown during the time of loss the blessing of your presence and prayers, expressions of kindness have given us encouragement as we face days ahead thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
