MYERS, Ms. Selma Julia "Bootsie" - age 80, passed away, Saturday, June 11, 2016 at her residence. Family Hour 10:30AM Saturday, June 18, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00AM. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Friday. Mrs. Myers will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from Noon - 8:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Selma J. Myers was born August 22, 1935 in Marks, Mississippi, the daughter of Valentine Gross and Clemmie Ransom. Selma was a resident of Pontiac, Michigan and a graduate of Pontiac High School. She later went on to further her education and graduated from Business College. On May 8, 1956 she married Paul Myers, Sr. She would later go on to be employed by Michigan Bell Telephone Company. Selma was a kind hearted, soft spoken, giving, meek and just such a sweet lady. She had a love of classic and thriller movies and also was a home town sports fan of all sports. Her hobbies included Bingo, going to the Casino and spending time with her family. Mrs. Myers leaves to cherish her memory: Paul Myers Jr. and Patrice Myers; grandchildren, Edward Myers of Manchester, KY, Michael (Kelimia) Myers and Keisha Myers all of Pontiac, MI, Raymarr Myers of Charlotte, NC, Gregory (Michelle) Myers of Ypsilanti, MI and Paul Myers III of Lansing, MI; great grandchildren, Tierra Gibbs, Tyree Gibbs, Janaya George, Patrice Myers, Jasmine Myers, Gregory Myers Jr., Timothy Myers, DeQuan McKinney, Morgan Cannon, Kahmiya Myers, Kahmontre Howard, Darryl Simms; sister, Gloria (Joe) Wheeler; two nieces, Leah Gross and Wendy (George) Howard all of Pontiac, MI; four nephews, Valard (Emma) Gross, Kevin (Audrey) Gross and Keith Gross all of Pontiac, MI, Ryan (Ginny) Gross of Waterford, MI; aunt, Maryanna Woods of Chicago, IL; Uncle, John Ransom of Chicago, IL; five sisters-in-law, Helen Waters, Lawanda Beane, Gladys Myers, Mable Davis and Yvonne Gross, all of Pontiac and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by husband, Paul Myers, Sr.; daughter, Arnita Myers; parents, Clemmie Ransom and Valentine Gross Sr.; step-father, Marcus Davis; brother, Valentine Gross Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Martha Campbell, Betty Wheeler, McLaren Hospice Staff.
