Sharon Renee "Black Gail" "Mook" Kinnard-Combs

KINNARD-COMBS, Ms. Sharon Renee "Black Gail" "Mook" - age 54, passed away, Sunday, August 4, 2013 at her residence. Family hour 12:00Noon Tuesday August 13, 2013 at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, 404 Cesar Chavez Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 12:30PM. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 12Noon Tuesday. Ms. Kinnard-Combs will li in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 1-8PM Monday. Ms. Sharon Renee Combs was born March 13, 1959 in Lawton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Nancy Reed and Charles Kinnard. God in his ultimate wisdom called Sharon home to be with him on Sunday August 4, 2013. Sharon came to Pontiac, Michigan at an early age where she accepted Christ at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Reverend Solomon Smith Sr. Sharon graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1977. After graduation, she attended Mercy Sanctuary College of Nursing in Nashville, TN; and graduated with honors receiving an Associates Degree in Nursing. Sharon served sixteen years at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital as a Neonatal Nurse in the nursery. Sharon worked her profession very well until her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis, and had to retire from her job. Sharon had a beautiful soul, one that was filled with the spirit. She devoted much of her time in church. She enjoyed singing in the choir, working with the youth, reading God’s word, crossword puzzles, music, and walking. Sharon was deeply rooted with family; she always put her family first. She adored her children and grandchildren and cherished the moments she had to spend with them. The memories of Sharon will remain in the hearts of her family: children, Kenyetta (Dangelo) Womack, Sylvester Giles Jr., and Robert (My’Unique) Combs all of Pontiac, MI; grandchildren, Dy’mond Womack, Da’nya Womack, Dangelo Womack Jr. and D’hera Womack and Faith Ann Renee Combs all of Pontiac, MI; father, Charles (Marva) Kinnard; sisters, Mary Underwood, Pamela Kinnard and Carolyn Kinnard all of Nashville, TN; brothers, Rodney ( Evonne) Reed OF Arlington, TX, Mark Reed of Pontiac, MI, Ronnie Kinnard and David Kinnard both of Nashville, TN; nieces, Cobi Reed of Arlington, TX, Jaz’mine Hooper of Southfield, MI, Elexah Hooper of Lake Orion, MI, and Shanon Sorrels of Nashville, TN; nephews, Ryan Reed and Amare’ Reed both of Arlington, TX; aunts, Shirley Green of Pontiac, MI, Juanita Green of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Bernice Hill of Pontiac, MI; uncle, Robert Hill of Pontiac, MI; special cousins, Regina Haynes and Rita Haynes both of Auburn Hills, MI; special friends, Blanche Mullen, Sandra Pittman and Judy Thomas all from Pontiac, MI; and a host of other relatives and friends. Ms. Combs was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Louise Green; stepfather, Henry Reed. The family would like to express special thanks to Bishop Lorenzo and First Lady Toni Turner and the entire congregation of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Family, the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Family and the staff of St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital of Pontiac, Michigan.
