GAMBLE, Mr. Shawn Maurice " Professor" . Sr. - Age 50, passed away Tuesday September 29, 2015 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital. Family hour 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Door of Faith Christian Church , 511 South Sanford Street, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00 AM. Pastor Earl O. Crump, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Tuesday. Mr. Gamble, Sr. will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 2:00 PM - 8:00PM Monday. Mr. Shawn M. “Professor” Gamble was born February 6, 1965 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Thomas M. and Loretta M. Gamble Sr. Shawn was a resident of Pontiac, Michigan, and a member of the Door of Faith Christian Church, under the leadership of Pastor Earl O. Crump. He worked for Oakland County as a surveyor for many years. Shawn was veteran of the United States Military, and took great pride in not only serving his family but as well as his country. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and play together, gardening, family time, most of all was time spent giving God praise for everything in his life. Shawn was a selfless man that found the good in everyone and wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of, before himself. Mr. Gamble leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Denise and Mia Hall, Shawn Gamble Jr., and Zhaneʹ Gamble; grandchildren, Johnniey B. Hill III, Jaylen I. Hall, Olivia Haden and Gia N. Hall; mother, Loretta M. Gamble; two sisters, Jacqueline Miller and Luwana Dodson; three brothers, Bryan Gamble Sr., Thomas Gamble Jr. and Chauncy Gamble, Sr.;six nieces, Chaunta Thomas, Rhoshawda Miller, Natasha Gamble, LaKendra Leopaul, LaToya Gamble and Anita Dodson; five nephews, Bryan Gamble Jr., Danny Miller, Michael Dodson, James Dodson III, Chauncy Gamble Jr.; aunts, Anita Busby, Marcia Frazier, Betty Sattlewhite, Charolett Newman; eleven uncles including Maurice McCallister; and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends including special friends, Lisa Gamble, Karen Johnson, Kimberly and Kai Stevenson, Devin Costen and Delores Johnson. Mr. Gamble was preceded in death by his father, Thomas M. Gamble Sr.; grandparents, Betty Nora and Robert Porter and Mildred and Jack Gamble.
