JONES, Mother Vivian "Muh" - age 75, passed away, Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland. Family hour 11:00AM Monday June 9, 2014 at Door of Faith Christian Church, 511 South Sanford St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:30AM. Pastor Earl O. Crump, Officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00AM. Monday. Mrs. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 10AM-6PM Sunday. Vivian Jones (Muh) was born December 27, 1938 in Jonesville, Louisiana. She is the daughter of the late Robert and Lena Hood and was the oldest of six. She attended Jonesville Consolidated High School and later married Freeman Jones in 1950. Mrs. Jones relocated to Pontiac, MI in 1969 with her five oldest children. She worked at the Holiday Inn on Woodward in the 1970’s and was later employed through the Pontiac School District. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and laughing while spending time with her family. Mrs. Jones was a Mother of the church at Door of Faith under the leadership of Pastor Earl O. Crump. She was an honest woman and would tell you what was on her mind. If you needed or wanted something she would do her best to help anyone out, she did not discriminate. Everyone loved Mamma Jones (Muh), on Monday, June 2, 2014 The Lord called his angel home. Mrs. Jones leaves to cherish her memory: children, Freeman, Dorothy, Diane, Billy, Stephanie, Frederick , Bobby, Tonga, Ondray (Cassandra) and Andre Jones; a host grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; a host of great great-great grandchildren; siblings, Rosa “Ralph” Hardy of Moreno Valley, CA; Elizabeth (David) Swift of Compton, CA; Jessie Sawyer of Los Angeles, CA; Veronica “Gayle” (Harvey) Savage of Jonesville, LA; Betty Jean Norris of Huntsville, AL; Robert (Rose) Hood of Wildsville, LA; Vinetta (Benny) Vault, Minister Gloria C. (Joe) Duncan, Juanita Sadler, Bennie (Faye) Hood, Mac Lee and Hattie (John) O’Steen all of Jonesville, LA; and host of nieces, nephews, other numerous cousins and friends. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Ann Jones; three grandchildren; sister, Freddie L. “Gaiter” Hood and brother, John W. Hood.
