STEVERSON, Ms. Bobbie Ann “Black Beauty” - age 70, passed away, Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Ascension Providence - Rochester. Family hour 1:30 P.M. Thursday, May 27, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 268 N. Perry, with the funeral commencing immediately at 2:00 P.M. Pastor James H. Keys, Sr. Officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 P.M. Thursday. Ms. Steverson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Wednesday. Bobbie Ann Steverson, 70, departed to be with the Lord suddenly on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Bobbie was born on December 8, 1950, in Madison, Mississippi, to her parents, the late Edward and Ella Lewis. She attended Rosa Scott School and graduated from high school in 1968, where she was a member of the girls basketball team even though she was small in stature. After graduation, Bobbie moved to Pontiac, Michigan, and was married to the late Bunnard Steverson, Jr., where she built her life and started her family. She was a career-worker at General Motors and retired in 2008 after 28 years of service. Affectionately known as “Black Beauty,” she was a stunning lady and stylish dresser. Bobbie enjoyed playing games on her cell phone and listening to her music. More than anything, she loved spending time with family and friends. Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory children, Mona Steverson, LaShintae Steverson, Kenya Jefferson (Roderick Bell), Willie Kellam Jr., and DaShawn Kellam; grandchildren, Dante Steverson, Edrick Hubbard II, Brittany Crumb, Demetrius Bailey, Ar’Zavion Watson, Ry’Lin Bell, Miyari Kellam, Kamare Kellam, and Avariella Kellam; and great-grandchildren, Ne’vaeh Steverson, Terrence Simpson III, Nya’leez Hubbard, Jol’e Bailey, and Daylen Bailey. She is survived by siblings, Eddie Samuel, Bennie Lewis, Dortha Lee, William Lewis, and Shirley Ward; and a host of other relatives and friends including dear friend, Elaine Cooks. Ms. Steverson was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ella Lewis; grandchildren, Dajaniqua Dennard and Gary Dennard, Jr; siblings, Lureatha Lewis, Edward Lewis and Alvin Lewis.
