JEFFERSON, Mr. Charles Dempsey Sr. – age 79, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, February 14, 2022 at the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 North Perry Street, with funeral commencing immediately at 11:00AM. Pastor James H. Keys, Sr., Officiating. Interment, Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 North Perry Street. Friends and Pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Saturday. Mr. Jefferson, Jr. will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00AM-4:00PM Sunday. Mr. Jefferson, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory loving wife, Josephine Jefferson; children, Elizabeth Guinn-Wallace, Deirdre Jefferson and April Jefferson; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Joseph Jefferson and Sandra Williams and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Jefferson was preceded in death by his son, Charles Jefferson, Jr; parents, siblings, Johnny Jefferson, Jr., Wilma Jean Dixon, Mary Ann Whitney; step sister, Bertha Cage; step-brother, Homer Crawford.
