STEWART, Elder Alonzo Rutherford Jr. – age 92, passed away, Friday, April 1, 2022 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 North Perry Street, with funeral commencing immediately at 11:00AM. Elder Robert Allen, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 North Perry Street. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Saturday. Mr. Stewart, Jr. will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from Noon-6:00PM Friday. The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Elder Stewart leaves to cherish his memory sister, Beatrice Davenport; special cousin, Lois Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including Cherie Samples, Sylvia Cook and William Sims; special nephews, David Manning and Julian Boyance. Elder Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, LeeAtrice and Alonzo Stewart, Sr; siblings, James, Katherine and John Stewart; nieces, Carol A. Kyles and Donna Gulley.
