Jonathan Lamont Hawkins was born on Sept. 26, 1989, in Detroit, Michigan, as the first child of Johnny Lamont Hawkins and Doris P. Martin Hawkins. Jonathan made his transition on Jan. 12, 2022, while a resident of Sterling Heights, Michigan. During his lifetime, while a youth, Jonathan initiated attended school at the Great Lakes Academy in Pontiac, Michigan, and then the West Bloomfield School District, where he eventually graduated from West Bloomfield High in 2007. After graduating high school, Jonathan with a big heart and being filled with nothing but pure excitement and curiosity, went on to explore, travel and live in various parts of the U.S.A.: initially starting in Atlanta, Georgia, before going on to then reside in San Diego, California and eventually in Dallas, Texas, prior to returning to his home State of Michigan, as he also worked to improve his overall skills as a published music producer in the hip-hop community. And as a music producer, Jonathan became affectionately known as “J.X. the Perfectionist”. Jonathan’s first love was always music and hip-hop and working with others to make the most dope beats with lots of 808 bass. His favorite rapper was none other than DMX. In addition to his love for music, music production and rap, Jonathan considered himself to be an aspiring businessman and entrepreneur. Additionally, given his love for learning, inquisitive nature and desire to always be a triple-threat, Jonathan also pursued a formal education studying computer science at the community college level, and at the time of his passing in 2022, he was enrolled in a Big-Ten University (i.e. Michigan State University’s) Coding Boot Camp Program, aspiring to become a professional Web Developer. Because of his pure spirit, vibrant laugh, gentleness, youthful nature, and overall love for people as well as dislike for injustice, his dad referred to him as “The Golden Child”; and his parents together, considered him their Gift-from-God, and the latter is how he came to be formally named Jonathan at birth. Jonathan was survived by his mother: Doris P. Dennis, father, Johnny L. Hawkins, and step-mother Stacie L. Hawkins; his three biological brothers: Donovon Myles Hawkins and Julian and Brandon Dennis; step-sister, Natalie (Glenn) Scott; step-brother(s): Dwayne (Marie) Dennis and Christopher Ryan Mann; step-grandmother(s): Jacqueline Mary McCallister and Elane Singletery; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Jonathan was preceded in death by both sets of his maternal and parental grandparents: Meldee and Lavern Martin; Ivory Hawkins, Jr. and Siritha Marie Reid-Hawkins; and uncle Jerry Tyrone Martin and Aunt April Martin-Bolden.
