WREN, Mr. Ralph – age 69, passed away, Monday, February 8, 2021 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland. Graveside service 3:00PM Saturday, February 13, 2021 from Mt. Hope Memorial Gardens, 17840 Middlebelt Road. Bishop William H. Murphy, Jr. officiating. Family and pallbearers will gather at the cemetery 3:00PM Saturday. Mr. Wren will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00PM-6:00PM, Friday. Mr. Wren is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Annie Wren; son, Damon Wren; daughter, Jillian Phillips; granddaughters, Willow and Jiselle Phillips; siblings; Elaine Miller of MI, Flora Johnson of MS, Carolyn Wren of MS, Laurence (Faithy) Wren of TX, Estella Wren of MS and Jerome (Carla) Wren of LA; mother-in-law, Catheryn James of MI; in-laws, Eula (Randall) Parker of GA, Channie (David) Snellings of GA, Jerry (Kimberly) McNair (MI), Vanessa Massenburg of MI, Mavis McNair of MI and Katherine Tatum of OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Ralph was also Godfather to Katelyn Tatum and Terrence Snellings and uncle to extra-special nephew, Quincy Harris. He leaves special friends to cherish his memory, Alfred Anderson, Peter Black, Julius Edwards, Paul Hilliker, Herman Lee, Donnie Miller, Bunnell Nunnery, Felix Tubbs, Donald R. Winding, Eddie Ray, Cordell Whitley, friends of the 1969 class of Central High School and many more friends who loved him. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ethel Wren; grandson, William Phillips, III; and life-long friend, Larry Taplin.
