WOODS, Ms. Vanessa “Ness” – age 69, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, August 13, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 North Perry Street, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00 AM. Pastor Nicholas Williams, Eulogist; Evangelist Joyce Hawkins, Officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 North Perry Street. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Saturday. Ms. Woods will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Ms. Woods leaves to cherish her memory, children, Linzer Lee Pope, Dionne (Patience) Woods, Yolanda (Isaac) Sellers, Anthony Woods, Sr. and Antonio Woods; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, James (Estelle) Woods, Jr., Cendy Brooks, Bernadine Woods and George O’Neal; aunt, Louise King; and other relatives and friends including best friends, Phyllis Wright, Rutha Bland and Loretta Adams. Ms. Woods was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Angelique Woods and Jenaro Kyles; parents, Rebecca and James Woods, Sr; siblings, Jesse Woods, William Woods, Sadie Woods, Roosevelt O’Neal and Annie Monroe.
