MUNSON, Mr. Ahmad Rashad "Nookie" - age 38, passed away, Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his residence. Family Hour 12:30 PM Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at St. John United Methodist Church, 620 University Drive., with funeral service commencing immediately at 1:00 PM. Pastor Lester Mangrum, Officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, 216 University Drive. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:30 PM Tuesday. Mr. Munson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St. and may be viewed from 4:00 PM - 8:00PM Monday. Mr. Ahmad Rashad “Nookie” Munson was born September 10, 1977 in Pontiac, Michigan to Helena (William) Munson and the late Donald Richardson Sr. Mr. Munson was a resident of Shelby Township. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was educated in Auburn Hills School District and graduated from Avondale High School. Ahmad “Nookie” had a strong passion for cooking, bowling, meeting people and him being the life of the party. He stayed “Sugar Sharp” for every occasion and he enjoyed his family and friends especially his favorite two: “Lil Gwen” and “June Bug.” Ahmad truly enjoyed his special relationship that he had with his daughter. Mr. Munson leaves to cherish his memory: children, Gwendolyn Munson, Twamayne Solomon and Roscoe McGhee; stepchildren, Dion Scott, Dianna Scott, Daziray Seawright, Leandra, Olivia and Cameron Guyton; grandchildren, Kore’ and Kristyn Adams; parents, Helena (William) Munson; grandmother, Barbara Richardson; siblings, Mary Munson, Jalen Munson, Donald Richardson Jr. and Laquisha Richardson; aunts and uncles, Faye Munson, Nicole (Charles) Bearden, Dale “Peaches” Munson, Dana Munson, Roy (LeeAnn) Munson, Raymon Munson, Jermaine Cole, Damon Munson, Stanley Richardson, Gary Richardson; great uncle, Harrison (Geri) Munson; special cousin, Twakisha Munson; special uncle, Kenny “Fresh” Harris; dear friend, Gwendolyn Seawright; fiancée, Susan Turlik; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mr. Munson was preceded in death by his father, Donald Richardson Sr.; grandparents, Smile (Mary) Munson, Helen Munson, Walter T. Richardson; and uncle, Ronald Richardson.
