PAIGE, Mr. Charles Thomas – age 89, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at American House. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, September 23, 2023 at New Birth Baptist Church, 27628 Avondale Street Inkster, Michigan Zip 48141 with Memorial Service commencing immediately at 11:00AM. Family and Friends will assemble at 10:30AM directly at the Church. There will be No Public Viewing. Charles Thomas Paige, was born on October 25, 1933 in Cannonsburg, PA to the union of Alice Marie and Thomas Otto Paige. When he was 8 he moved to Inkster, MI. Charles was educated in Inkster Public Schools where he met Barbara Bullard and married her right out of high school. They had four children, Wanda, Charles (Kenny), Valerie and Sherrie. Three granddaughters, Allison, Amanda, and Alanna; and four great-grandsons Xavier, Derrick, Martin, and Messiah. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Charles was a devoted father, independent contractor and painter. He began his career as a general contractor running his own business for more than 60 years. He was known for taking the most difficult jobs and delivering the highest quality work. The most satisfying part of his career was sharing his expertise and knowledge training apprentices to work with him. When he was not working or spending time with his family. He was enjoying his true passion for the great outdoors. His favorite pastimes were fishing, and hunting. Every fall you could find him in the woods ready for hunting season; and every spring and summer he was sure to be on the water somewhere catching his limit. Which he was always willing to share his bounty. His family was the center of his world. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family. His passion was seeing that his family was loved and cared for. He always greeted you with his kind eyes, and a warm smile. After raising his children, his love and support continued to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charles' family was a vital part of his life and his influence, kindness, and generosity will be remembered by those whom he touched. He is best known for his generous heart and willingness to help others. His lasting legacy will always be finding a solution in the "Charles Paige Way". He leaves to cherish his memory, his children Wanda, Charles, and Sherrie; granddaughters, Allison, Amanda, and Alanna; great-grandsons Xavier, Derrick, Martin and Messiah; his sisters-in-law, Lillian, Sandra, and Jacqueline (Lenoard), and a host of nieces/nephews, relatives, and friends.
