TALBERT, Mr. Eric - Age 46, passed away Wednesday January 8, 2014 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, January 18, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with Funeral Service commencing immediately at 2:00PM. Pastor Terrance J. Gowdy, Officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Saturday. Mr. Talbert will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 1:00PM-2:00PM Saturday. Mr. Eric Talbert was born December 29, 1967 in Harvey, Illinois, the son of Priscilla Harris and Harold P. Talbert Sr. At a young age, Eric was determined to succeed in life. While living with his mother, he learned what was right and what was definitely wrong. After this Eric moved in with his grandfather who taught him many things, including always feed your family and make sure there’s a roof over their head. Some years later Eric left Kansas City to live with his mother again, but disagreements lead him to move out at age sixteen, and live on his own. Eric had numerous jobs like being a mover, culinary specialist, United States Navy and a Disco Jockey playing “House Music.” He loved football and especially boxing in which he fought as a “Golden Glove Amateur Boxer.” At twenty five, he started his family; Eric has one son and one daughter. He was a hard worker and loved his co-workers. Some of them he has known for fifteen years. Eric would always get the job done. He was an excellent worker and a wonderful father, who was always there for his children. Mr. Talbert leaves to cherish his memory: children, Ellice and Blake Talbert; step daughter, Brittany Hipps; father, Harold P. Talbert Sr.; step father, Richard Brown; grandparents, Wallace Harris, Marge Dean Dright and Russel and Lorraine Talbert; sisters, Kimberly (Montgomery) Talbert, Latasha (Samuel) Johnson; brother, Harold P. (Yolanda) Talbert Jr.; niece, Candace A. Talbert; nephews, Juan Pierre Talbert and Seneca Adams Jr.; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Talbert was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla A. Harris; niece, Monique Talbert; grandparents, Frankie and Stevie Harris. The family would like to express special thanks to Gloria, Dawayn, Earl, Tony, Keshia and Erma.
