Ernestine Glazier

GLAZIER, Mrs. Ernestine - Age 96, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Boulevard Hills Nursing Home. Family hour 10AM Friday, September 21, 2007 at Franklin Rd. Church of Christ, 1400 Franklin Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Bro. Darrell Holt, officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, 210 University Drive. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Friday. Mrs. Glazier will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 1-8PM Thursday. Ernestine Glazier was born on December 13,1910 in Gregg County, TX to Billy and Ellen Virginia Green. She had three sisters and four brothers, all of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Jessie Glazier and lived in Longview, TX for many years. To their union eight children were born. The family moved to Pontiac, MI in 1951 and she became a member of the Hughes Street Church of Christ. Once the Franklin Road Church of Christ was established, she remained a faithful member there until the time of her death. Ernestine lived an amazing life! She was a generous, honest, kind and virtuous woman. Those who knew her, knew of her quiet strength. She had integrity and courage. The 96-year journey in which she traveled proved to be a testament of her love for Christ. She was a role model and demonstrated to others how to treat one another. She was extremely independent and was able to care for herself and live by herself until the age of 94. Living her life as an example to others, she encouraged all to become self-sufficient. She had many talents. She enjoyed sewing, making beautiful dolls, quilt making, soap making, cooking and playing dominos. Her favorite television show was ?The Price Is Right.? She enjoyed her family and everyone knew that they were loved by this incredible woman. We will all miss her! She leaves to cherish her memory four surviving children: Jesse Glazier, Jr. of Pontiac; Elaine (Lonnie) Staton of Rydal, PA; Virginia Carson and Wanda Glazier both of Pontiac. She will continue her legacy through her 19 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Her children that preceded her in death are also remembered: Annie Ruth Powers, Reta Myrel Barge, Phillip Glazier and Stanley Glazier. She also leaves many extended family members and friends.
