ELLSWORTH, Mrs. Evelyn Marie - age, 78, passed away, Monday, April 8, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, April 15, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00AM.Minister Julian Busbee, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Monday. Mrs. Ellsworth will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10:00AM-5:00PM Sunday. Mrs. Evelyn Marie (Woods) Ellsworth was born March 18, 1935 in Pontiac, Michigan the daughter of Evan and Corrine (Wells) Woods. Evelyn was a resident of Pontiac, Michigan. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age and was baptized at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Pontiac High School “Class of 1953.” Evelyn was employed by Oakland County Circuit Court as a supervisor in the Register of Deeds Department. She retired after forty-three years of loyal and dedicated service. Evelyn met and fell in love with the late Donald Wesley Ellsworth, and they married in 1970 and spent twenty-five years together as a happy couple. Evelyn loved music, listening to music was one of her favorite past-times. One of Evelyn’s hobbies was collecting records and albums. She enjoyed going to casinos, traveling and dining out. She especially enjoyed following Detroit’s professional sports teams and watching them on TV. Evelyn had a unique sense of humor and was a good listener. Words that described her most were loving, thoughtful, patient and kind. Mrs. Ellsworth leaves to cherish her memory: godchildren, Rhonda, Edgar and Evan Morris; brother, Robert (Delores) Owens; step children, Donna, Andrew, James Quentin and Casslyn Ellsworth all of Washington, DC; cousins, Nancy and Ann Daniels; sister-in-laws, Vivian ( Dr. James) Hawkins, Bernice and Delores Ellsworth; special nieces, Vivian Gracey, Kim Houston, Connie Sanders, Kelli Etchison, Joy Washington and Rebecca Green; and a host of other nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. Mrs. Ellsworth was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wesley Ellsworth.
