Simpson, Mr. Gregory Alan - age 58, passed away, Monday, July 4, 2016 at his residence. Family Hour 1:30PM Saturday July 9, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2:00PM. Internment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Saturday. Mr. Simpson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 4:00-8:00PM Friday Mr. Gregory Alan Simpson was born October 30, 1958 in Pontiac, Michigan to Moses and Catherine Simpson. He was the fourth child of seven children. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at South Side Seventh Day Adventist Church in Pontiac, Michigan. “Big Brown”, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, and was a loving and dedicated husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and most of all friend/boss to those he came in contact with. His hobbies were his cars, the gym, music and cooking Bar BQ. Greg started working at General Motors after graduating from Pontiac Northern High School “Class of 77.” He took the buy out from General Motors to start his own business “Big Brown’s” Auto Detailing Center (twenty six years) in Waterford, Michigan which is now located in Clarkston, Michigan. Greg was married to Libby for thirty years and to their union a son, Marcus was born. He was called home to Glory on Monday July 4, 2016. Mr. Simpson leaves to cherish his memory: lovely wife, Libby Simpson; son, Marcus Allen Simpson; parents, Moses and Catherine Simpson of Pontiac, MI; brother, Tim (Bonnie) Simpson; sister, Bobby (Gary) Hudson of Pontiac, MI; mother-in-law, Barb Oates of Highland, MI; sister-in-law, Dawn Collins of Milford, MI, Julie (Don) Schiebold of Highland, MI, Lori Pelzal of Highland, MI; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Tracey) Oates of Lowell, MI and John (Diane) Oates of Grand Blanc, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his siblings, Kathy Hutchinson, Darryl Simpson, Moses Simpson, Jr. and Patricia Henderson; grandparents, uncles and aunts. The family would like to express special thanks to family, friends, physicians, nurses who cared for Greg and his family.
