Harvey Britton

BRITTON, Mr. Harvey - Age 66, passed away Monday March 28, 2016 at Clarkston Speciality Care Facility. Family Hour 11:00AM Friday April 8, 2016 at Greater Bibleway Apostolic Church, 1180 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing at 12:00Noon. Dist. Eld. James E. Manns, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00AM Friday. Mr. Britton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 1:00 PM-8:00PM Thursday. Mr. Harvey Lee Britton was born November 16, 1949 in Jonestown, Mississippi, the son of George and Ethel Williams-Britton. Harvey was educated and graduated from the Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Soon after graduating he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country faithfully and was honorable discharged. Shortly after coming home from service, Harvey moved to Pontiac, Michigan in 1970. Upon arriving here in Michigan Harvey sought employment with the General Motors Corporation and working as a caregiver in the Direct Care field. He soon united with a church, that was Greater Bibleway Apostolic Temple Church, and that is where he worshiped until his health began to fail him. He enjoyed watching sports, looking at Westers and Playing Cards. Harvey will truly be missed by his friends but especially his family. Mr. Britton leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Keishun Bumpous-Britton, Harvey Black, Keisha (Anthony) Lee and Aaron Hardy; stepdaughter, Shwana (Wanie) May all of Pontiac, MI; nine grandchildren, Timothy Murphy, Nyeisha Lee, Myeisha Adams, Cameron Carodine, Dominique Black, Octave May, David Henry, Dontrell Hammond and Sabrina May all of Pontiac, MI; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Gustenia Scott and Nancy (Nehemiah) Webb; four brothers, Curtis (Bettie) Britton, James (Katheryn) Armstrong, George (Gloria) Britton and Robert (Shirley) Britton; three sisters-in-law, Diane Johnson of Pontiac, MI, Dorothy Jones of Detroit, MI and Lisa May of Pontiac, MI; four brothers-in-law, Quentin (Becky) May, Theodore (Donna) May, Urigh May and Theopilus May; and a host of other relatives and friends including special niece, Stephanie Ethel Britton; two special granddaughters, Myeisha Adams and Nyeisha Lee; special cousin, Josephus Britton Jr.; special friend, Robert “Bob” Jones. Mr. Britton was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Britton; grandchildren, Aneisha Lee, Harvey Black Jr., Harvey Kyles; parents, George and Ethel Williams-Britton; brother, Phillip Britton; sister, Arme Jean Britton; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Scott and Andrew Lundy; sister-in-law, Herlene May.
