LOFTON, Mrs. Jessie Dean - age 90, passed away, Friday, June 12, 2020 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, June 22, 2020 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 North Perry Street, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor James H. Keys, Sr., Officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 North Perry Street. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Monday. Mrs. Lofton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday. Mrs. Lofton leaves to cherish her memory: children, Josephine (Charles) Jefferson, JoAnn Holland, Jeanette Lofton, James Henderson Lofton, Jerry Lawrence Lofton, Clifford Dennis Lofton and Vernon Paul Lofton; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Evelyn Bryant and special nephews, William "Billy" Rice and Reuben Rice Bey. Mrs. Lofton was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lofton; children, Jeanette Lofton (1955), Samuel Lee Lofton and Jack Sylvester Lofton; great-grandson, DeShion Holland-Stanley and parents, Johnnie Mae Thomas and Samuel Lee Dozier. Beginning on April 10, 2020 at 9:00 am, and Continuing Until Further Notices. All assemblages of more than 10 people in a single indoor shared space and all events of more than 10 people are prohibited in this state. A single indoor shared space includes but is not limited to a room, hall, cafeteria, auditorium, theater, or gallery. The prohibition on assemblages set forth in this section does not apply to: We do understand that this may pose a challenge to you and your family, but our dedicated staff is here to help guide you towards making the best decisions in memorializing your loved one.
