Joseph Dolo

DOLO, Mr. Joseph - age 67, passed away, Monday, October 27, 2014 at his residence. Family hour 10:00am Saturday November 8, 2014 at United Faith General Baptist Church,81 E.Howard St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00AM. Pastor Gary Davis, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10AM Saturday. Mr. Dolo will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 2-8:00PM Friday. Mr. Joseph Nya Dolo was born November 15, 1946 in Ganta Liberia. He was the son of Saye Fah Dolo and Bleh Maata Wei. Joseph attended and graduated from Liberia School District, while there he became a school teacher and majored as a customer officer. Joseph moved to the United States in 1990 where he became a cook and mentor (helping others). On April 10, 1992 Joseph married his soul mate Wavie Bell Wooten to whom he loved dearly and cherished during their twenty-two years of marriage. Joseph loved to cook, dance, sing, fish and socialize and make everyone smile. He was a champion in checkers. He was a man of Faith and Belief in the Lord. He was baptized in Jesus name under the leadership of Bishop Freddy Jones at Greater Sharing Cross Apostolic Church where he received the gift of the Holy Ghost. He touched many hearts both in Africa and the United States. He was loved by everyone. Mr. Dolo leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Wavie Dolo; four daughters, Josephine, Fatu, Kou and Yah Dolo; four sons, Nya, Papay, Richard and George Dolo; nineteen grandchildren, Joseph Arku, Julius, Titian, Emmanuel, Roland, Melvin, Kou Gbuyee, Wavie Dell, Jorina, Claresa, Shirley, Cyrus, Love, Nohn, Jackson, Mackie, Reuben, Yah Dolo and Richmond Zolo; six sisters, Nohn Victoria Saydee, Yah Gopu Dolo-Bombay, Yei Sannie Dolo-George, Kou Yeoakesa Dolo-Garouo, Yei Zoayah Dolo, Yah Martha Dolo-Taryor; brothers, Paye Pawon and Nya Peter Dolo; special aunt, Earmond Towns; godfather, Henry Broadnax; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, In laws and friends. Mr. Dolo was preceded in death by his son, Saye Dolo; father, Saye Fah Dolo; mother, Bleh Maata Wei Dolo; sister, Kou Kona Gibegiah; mother and father-in-law, Sarah and Harry Dickerson Sr.; three sisters-in-law, Florence Dixson, Maude Eva Telley and Emma McDonald; five brothers-in-law, Willie Dixon, Harmond Wooten, Greg Rhinehart, Willie Jackson and Lonnie Amerson. The family would like to express special thanks to Home Care Nurses, Vikkie Pipe and Pat Hill; United Faith General Baptist Church, Greater Sharing Cross Apostolic Faith Church, Gospel Temple of the Apostolic Faith Church and New Life Prophetic Center Apostolic Church Families.
