MCDONALD, Lamurriel - Age 83 passed Thursday, October 4, 2007 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland. Family hour 10AM Thursday, October 11, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Dr. Sandra Edden officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Thursday. Mrs. McDonald will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Wednesday. rs. Lamurriel McDonald was born October 6, 1923 in Opelika, Alabama, the daughter of the late Reverend James Ralph and Willie Ann Williams. Lamurriel was educated in Alabama where she graduated from Liberty School. She received salvation as a child and was a member of Liberty AME church in Opelika from early childhood where her father served as the Pastor. At the age of eighteen she moved to Pontiac and became instrumental in relocating her family from the South. She retired from the Michigan Catholic Conference and then worked briefly as a foster grandparent for Oakland County. Ms. McDonald was the mother of an only child, daughter Mildred, who preceded her in death in the very early years of her life. She was married to the late Newton Reed and then wed Robert L. McDonald who also preceded her in death. Lamurriel had a great love for flowers all of her life and was rewarded with a colorful gallery of flowers every year. Her hands were undeniably ?gifted? in gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was a talented singer and played piano in her youth as well. Mrs. McDonald was a founding member of Miracle Ministries International under the leadership of her pastor and niece, Dr. Sandra D. Edden. She served on the Mother?s Board, was a Certified Minister of Prayer and a powerful Prayer Warrior. Lamurriel leaves to cherish her memory: step-children, Anthony McDonald, Diana (Emzer) Shurrelds of Lima, OH;dear sisters, Raycene (Bryant) Madden, Gwendolyn McFadden of Pontiac, MI and Gloria Williams of Akron, OH; several step-children, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends.
