PETRIE, Mr. Leonard Robert "Len" - Age 47, passed Saturday, March 15, 2008. Funeral service 2:00p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St. Pastor Detrick Gladwin, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 2:00p.m. Friday. Mr. Petrie, Jr. will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-2p.m. Leonard Robert Petrie, Jr. was born August 19, 1960 in Pontiac, Michigan the son of Leonard Robert Petrie, Sr. and Betty Jean Matthews. He was a resident of Pontiac his whole life. Mr. Petrie, Jr. volunteered his services to the Salvation Army food bank as well as the Baldwin Center serving lunch and helping out. He loved to help other people always giving anything he had, or his time. He was a Christian man and tried to live by the word. He enjoyed watching sports on t.v. and he was a very avid music listener. He enjoyed all kinds of music, especially 70's & 80's Rock. He could tell you anything about music, his knowledge was endless. He also worked at several group homes, as well caring for people with physical and mental disabilities. He had a heart of gold and was a good man. Mr. Petrie, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Tiffany Lynn Petrie, son, Leonard Robert Petrie III both residents of Romeo, MI; two grandchildren, Darian MarQuis Ethridge of Romeo, MI, and Justin Robert Petrie of Lake Orion, MI; father Leonard Robert Petrie, Sr, step parents, Sharon Petrie and Frank Craven, Sr; four sisters, Judy Charboneau, Shirley Parvu, Peggy Couture and Kathy Ostrander; three brothers, George Petrie, Joseph Petrie and Franklin Craven, Jr; two nieces, Angela Charboneau and Samantha Parvu, three nephews, Richard Charboneau, Robert Petrie and Joseph Petrie, Jr, one uncle, Kenny, cousins, Karen Johnson, Lisa Lantz and Pat Watkins, one brother in law, Keith Parvu a host of other relatives and friends including special friend Cheryl Clanton Petrie who was his wife for ten years and remained a close friend for twenty years. Thank you for his two kids and always being there in the good & bad times you?ll always hold a special place in his heart. Mr. Petrie, Jr. was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Matthews. The family would like to express special thanks to everyone who donated their time and hearts God Bless you All.
