Linda Sue "Soupbone" Curry

CURRY, Mrs. Linda Sue "Soupbone" - Age 64, passed away Tuesday June 28, 2016 at McLaren Oakland Hospital. Family Hour 10:30AM Wednesday July 6, 2016 at United House of Prayer for All People Church, 4018 Joy Rd., Detroit, Michigan, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Frends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Wednesday. Mrs. Curry will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St. and may be viewed from 2-8:00PM Tuesday. Mrs. Linda Sue Curry was born January 25, 1952 in Greenville, Mississippi, the daughter of Sallie Mae (Frank) McGee and Henry Brown. Linda was resident of Pontiac, Michigan. She was a faithful member of United House of Prayer for All People in Detroit, Michigan. She served as member of the Tamberine Band, Choir, Kitchen Staff, and a Word Receptionist. Linda was employed at North Oakland Medical Center in Pontiac. Her hobbies consisted of cooking for her family (specializing in cakes), fishing, attending church, family game nights, sewing crocheting, jewelry making and other unique crafts. Linda was affectionately known as “Momma Curry” by the friends of her children. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Curry leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Louis “LC” Curry; children, Jimmy Bell Jr., Eric (Sonya) Bell, LaKeshea Trueblood and LaTasha Curry; stepchildren, Louis Curry Jr. and Leland Curry; grandchildren, Damille King, Envy Bell, Shaniqua Bell, Tianna Bell, Jaylah Gilmore; great granddaughter, London Simone; siblings, Ruthie Wilson of Jackson, MS, Ishmon Early, Jesse (Doris) Early, Dinky McGee, Stanley McGee, Sammie McGee, Terry McGee and Ora McGee all of Pontiac, MI, Michael L. (Felicia) Lott of St. Louis, MO, Cheryl and Tyrone Brown of Memphis, TN; niece, Melissa Humphrey; nephews, Dirk Allen and Garrick McGee; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Curry was preceded in death by her parents, Frank (Sallie) McGee and Henry Brown; siblings, Bobby Daniels and Frankie Parker; godmother, Pearl Carraway.
