Ludie Taylor

Taylor, Ludie Mae was born to the union of the late Willie and Pearline Zeno March 3, 1933 in Robertson County, Texas. Ludie was a graduate of Wilson High School in Rosebud, Texas and thereafter moved to Dallas with her family. She relocated to Pontiac, Michigan in 1952 were she began her work career. She was employed at the Avondale Nursing Home for several years. She retired from the Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac after 27 years of service. Ludie married Robert Bell and together they welcomed their son, Ricky Maurice. In 1987, Ludie married Mixon Taylor and with this union came seventeen step-children. She received her greatest joy in being a servant of the Lord. She confessed Christ at an early age at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Marlon, Texas. She was a youth director at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and later united with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her death. At Shiloh, she was the President of the Mission, Program Coordinator, Chairperson of the Kitchen Committee, and President of the Senior Choir. Ludie was willing to serve in any capacity in the house of the Lord. She went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2007. She leaves to celebrate her legacy a large and loving family. They include the following: her husband Mixon Taylor; her four grandchildren, Ricky Jr., DeJuante, Shantaria, and Dario; her sisters, Willie Grimes, Lillian Zeno (Harold) Hubbard of Dallas, Texas, Ruby Jewel (James) McKinney of Houston, Texas; Her brothers, Audrey (Mae) Zeno of Richardson, Texas, Donald (Donette) Zeno of Desoto, Texas and James Zeno of Grenada, Virgin Islands; She also leaves her sisters-in-law, Grace Zeno and Mary Zeno of Dallas, Texas; brothers-in-law, Elbert (Mary Ella) Taylor, Worrie (Lillie) Taylor of Warren, Ohio and Willie (Jackie) Taylor of Pontiac, Michigan; two God-sisters, Billie Gorden and Joyce White of Pontiac, Michigan; her aunts, Caldonia Draughan of Los Angeles, California and Jewel Dunne of Houston Texas; and her uncle, LaCurtis (Ruth) Collette of Verdes, California. She had seventeen step-children, 28 step-grandchildren, 21 step-great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Maurice Bell, her two brothers, Leon and Lee Edward Zeno, and her sister, Ruby Donalson. Ludie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking, collecting bird figurines and coins and playing card games. She is gone but not forgotten by the many lives she has touched.
