TADEMY-RUSSELL, Mrs. Mildred - age 78, passed away, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Henry Ford Hospital West Bloomfield. Family hour 10:00AM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 69 South Astor St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Al J. Terrell, Officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00AM Saturday. Mrs. Tademy-Russell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 12Noon - 8:00PM Friday. Mrs. Mildred (Tademy) Russell was born December 15, 1936, the daughter of Oliver and Lillian (Kyles) Tademy, in Glenmora, LA, and later moved to Pontiac at the age of five. She accepted Christ at an early age and later married Grafton Russell Jr. at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in 1957, whom preceded her in on death August 25, 2000. Mildred was a resident of Pontiac, Michigan. She was a charter member of the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church since 1969. Mildred served her church faithfully in various capacities: Church Clerk for almost 20 years, Bereavement Floral administrator and Altar Guild member. Prior to St. Stephen Missionary Baptist church she served as Church Clerk at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church for some years. She Graduated from Pontiac High in 1955 and obtained an Associates degree in Business. She employed at Oakland County in the Clerk Department for several years. Later in life she worked as a Teacher Aide at Washington Jr. High School and finally worked for the State of Michigan Unemployment Office as a processing clerk. Her hobbies include: She enjoyed reading the bible, novels and doing crossword puzzles, and watching Crime shows. Mildred was very interested in caring for her family as well as church family and the entire neighborhood. She was persists in prayer, possessing a keen sense of discernment, giving unconditional love, great sense of humor, and kept the faith trusting in God. Mrs. Tademy-Russell leaves to cherish her memory: three children/ one daughter in-law-one daughter, daughter, Phyllis Elisabeth Russell; two sons, Fredrick Oliver Russell and Grafton (Tywanna Eleatha) Russell III all of Pontiac, MI; three grandchildren, Sinclair Mone't Russell, Olivia Marie Russell, Grafton Russell IV, soon to be born granddaughter, Ashley Russell; special nieces, Deloris Fletcher and son, Joe Reid of Pepper Pike, OH; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Mrs. Tademy-Russell was preceded in death by her husband, Grafton Russell Jr.; parents, Oliver and Lillian (Kyles) Tademy.
