Ruby Boyles

BOYLES, RUBY LEE; Age 57, passed Saturday, January 26, 2008 at William Beaumont Hospital - Royal Oak. Family hour 10AM Saturday February 2, 2008 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 174 Branch St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Pastor Keyon S. Payton, officiating. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N. Perry St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Saturday. Mrs. Boyles will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry St., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8p.m. Friday February 1, 2008 at the funeral home. Ruby Lee Perry - Boyles born June 24, 1950, in Jonestown, MS to the late Ben and Lubertha Perry. She departed this life to be with the Lord on January 26, 2008. Ms. Ruby accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Fleece Chapel in Jonestown, MS. She attended Aggie High School and Coahoma Junior College where she received an Associate in Arts Degree in 1971. On July 9, 1972 she united in holy matrimony to Robert Lee Boyles. To this union three children were born Frederick, Demetria, and Shantel. In 1972 they relocated to Pontiac, MI were she joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Amos G. Johnson. Mrs. Ruby was a faithful and dedicated member at New Bethel for over 30 years. Over the years she participated in numerous auxiliaries, which included the Treasurer of Missionary Ministry, Sunday School Teacher in the Nursery class, Vice-President of the Usher Board, Member of the Mass Choir, Kitchen Ministry, and City Wide Choir Union. Her most recent accomplishment was in 2007 when she became the Superintendent of the Children's Ministry. Mrs. Ruby first job in Pontiac was a loan processor at Beneficial Finance Company. After the company closed she began working at The Jay Shop in 1983 as a Production Supervisor. She also was a Sale Associate part-time for over 15 years at Sears. Mrs. Ruby definitely loved to work but also enjoyed helping others. She really cherished the time she spent with family, friends, church members, and co-workers. Mrs. Ruby leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Robert Lee of 35 loving years; son, Frederick Derrell (MaryJo) of Savannah, GA, daughters, Demetria Latisha (Leroy) and Shantel Monet (Jamel) of Pontiac. Step-children Yvette Boyles and Rochanda Collins. Grandchildren, Dashon, Cayla, and Jalyn Boyles, and Dorien Jackson; Step-mother, Mary Lee Perry; 4 sisters, Arlene, Georgia (Larry), Bernice (Earnest), Deborah; 10 brothers, Rhenett (Brenda), Luterner, Henry (Carolyn), Jimmy (Mildred), Ben, Nathaniel (Maxine), Oscar (Joyce), Willie Earl, Karl (Demtrius), Leon (Josie);a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-laws, brother-in-laws ;God children, Micah Hobdy, Shannon and Tophani Steverson, Kiaria Sims, Ashley and Nicohlas Davis, Ariana Mitchell; and a very special phone buddy Dianne Hodge.
